Municipal Camera Surveillance Systems
Role and purpose
The main role of the camera systems in municipal applications is to ensure monitoring of selected risk localities in a municipality. The Municipal Camera Surveillance System (MCSS) is supposed to evoke a greater feeling of safety and to perform a preventive role. It is evident from the practice that the already installed MCSS have gradually become integral part of the police means for the prevention, detection, and subsequent evaluation of a crime
The deployment of MCSS is usually required in selected municipal sites where the highest increase in criminality with a permanently high number of criminal offences is found. The intent is to enhance the surveillance of public safety, improvement of fruitfulness of actions against perpetrators for criminal acts (namely during motor vehicle intrusion) as well as against persons who disturb the public peace in different ways. Thanks to MCSS, it is also possible to maintain the local road traffic regulation in the locations monitored and settle up the offences caused by undisciplined drivers without delay.
Principle and options
The camera systems consist of individual camera points where stationary or rotary cameras, control units, and the dispatching site can be used. Recording and analysing the data acquired take place at the dispatching site. The transmission of individual signals from the cameras is carried out by means of metallic or optical cabling or via microwave transmission.
The extension of the system is given by requirements of the submitter (town) and by its objective needs. When the system is prepared, some preview photographs are taken to select a suitable camera point and camera tests are carried out before installation. We are able to deliver the cameras in modified hoods according to the requirements of the house owner with regard to historical nature of the object.
It is suitable to make a TV wall containing several screens for general monitoring and one large monitor to provide a more detailed preview. The control console, the operation of which is very simple, is used for controlling the rotary cameras.
As to the recording system, we recommend to use the proved technologies because the function and stability ensure trouble-free operation, a wide variety of exploitation, including easy data retrieval from the archived data. Specially modified and dedicated computer technology is used for processing and analysing the records. The data records can be stored on CDs or DVDs or in data storage facilities.
The technologies designed by us facilitate the interconnection to other dispatching sites, such as the Police of the Czech Republic as well as the remote mobile surveillance.
